Deposit and Refund Details for:
Traditional Undergraduate Students Admission Deposits
The freshman class is limited, so please make your deposit to confirm your intent to enroll and save your seat. The admissions deposit will be applied to the first semester's bill.
- Resident Student: $250
- Commuter Student: $100
- Physician Assistant BS/MS Student (Resident): $650
- Physician Assistant BS/MS Student (Commuter): $500
- International Student: $800
Please note: Both the commuter and resident student deposits are applied directly to tuition charges. For example, if a resident student later decides to commute, the full $250 deposit will still remain applied to the student’s account.
Deposit Refund Information
- Fall Semester Start: The admission deposit is refundable if the Office of Undergraduate Admissions receives notification of withdrawal by May 1.
- Spring Semester Start: The admission deposit is nonrefundable.
If you choose not to enroll and do not request a refund by the applicable deadline, the deposit will be forfeited.
Online Bachelor's and Certificates Program Students
Graduate Students
For most graduate programs, the $50 nonrefundable deposit is good for the academic year for which you plan to begin your studies, unless you defer, and will be applied to your bill. If you do not enroll and do not defer, the deposit is forfeited.
Exceptions include:
- Physical Therapy DPT Students: To reserve your seat in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, please make your nonrefundable $500 deposit by the deadline specified on your acceptance letter.
- Physician Assistant M.S. Program Students: The $1000 nonrefundable advance deposit is good for the spring term of the academic year in which you plan to begin your Physician Assistant Program graduate studies. If you don't enroll, the deposit is forfeited.
- Occupational Therapy Program Students: Occupational Therapy (OTD) students should make a $300 tuition deposit within 45 days of receiving their acceptance letter. A 50% refund will be offered should the student decide to rescind their commitment. Students must communicate in writing to OT faculty that they are no longer committed to SHU OTD before May 15 of the year of matriculation to receive this partial refund of their deposit.
- Orthodontics Program Students: As a resident of the Orthodontics Program, you pay a $7,000 nonrefundable deposit that is applied to your tuition. (Interns pay a $2,000 nonrefundable deposit that is applied to tuition.) The remaining tuition is due by June 20. Any intern who replaces a resident must pay any remaining balance due immediately.
