Dance Audition Information

Audition In-Person or Via Online Video Submission 

All applicants must:

  • Complete the Dance Audition Request Form. (Confirmation of audition date and time will be sent by the program coordinator.)
  • Participate in a dance technique assessment class.
  • Participate in an interview with dance faculty.

Audition Requirements

Dance Performance B.F.A Requirements 

  • Concert Dance Concentration: present a two minute ballet or modern piece.
  • Commercial Dance Concentration: present two one-minute pieces in one of the following styles: jazz, commercial, tap, hip-hop.

Dance Choreography B.F.A Requirements

  • Dancers must present a self-choreographed two minute piece. 

Dance B.A. Requirements

  • Dancers must present a one minute combination in any style of dance.

Online/Video Auditions

Audition requirements are the same as those outlined for in-person auditions. Any interviews are arranged virtually. To schedule your Online/Video Submission Audition, complete the Dance Audition Request Form in your student applicant portal and indicate your choice of an online audition. 

Video Submission Guidelines (online auditions only)

  • Please try to capture the highest quality video possible.
  • Be sure to record in a well-lit area with your entire body in the frame.
  • Please introduce yourself and share the name of the choreographer and restate your name before ending the video.
  • The video must be saved as a YouTube link, marked as Unlisted, and uploaded to the Seton Hill audition form where you should also upload your headshot and resume.
 

You will be contacted by the dance program coordinator to schedule a virtual interview via Zoom.
