Research
At Seton Hill you will learn research methods in psychology, including research design and data analysis. You will then have the opportunity to conduct research on your own - or in partnership with faculty or classmates - and present your research in a professional venue. Many students present research at the annual Eastern Psychological Association conference, one of the regional conventions of the American Psychological Association.
Faculty
Seton Hill Psychology Program faculty have professional backgrounds in social and experimental psychology, and are active researchers. This gives you the opportunity to explore a range of research and career interests.
Internships
At Seton Hill, you will gain 120 hours of practical internship learning in professional settings while you explore career interests and make valuable connections. Recent internships have included placements in the following areas:

Centers & Programs
As a psychology major at Seton Hill you will benefit from the resources of our Art Therapy, Social Work and Sociology Programs. You will also have the opportunity to conduct supervised research and work with preschool aged children in our Child Development Center.
Psychology Club & Honors Society
Seton Hill offers psychology majors the ability to participate in Psi Chi (the International Honor Society in Psychology) in addition to Seton Hill’s Psychology Club.
Careers
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the job outlook for psychologists to grow faster than the average for all occupations. The 2019 median annual pay for a psychologist exceeded $80,000. (To practice as a psychologist you will generally need an advanced degree and usually a license as well.) Study in psychology can lead to jobs in:
