Course and Program Details

Seton Hill’s M.S.N./M.B.A. includes both time-tested foundational knowledge and up-to-the-minute learning in topics like business analytics and AI.

Course Format: Online

Required Clinical Hours: The 525 clinical hours can often be completed at your current workplace, or at an eligible site that best suits your career goals.

Course Schedules: Courses are offered in both 16-week semesters and 8-week sessions during the Fall, Spring and Summer.

Admissions Requirements and Process

Admissions Requirements

To apply to the M.S.N./M.B.A. you must:Apply Now

  • Complete the graduate study application form. (Apply online now for free!)

  • Have earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Have a current, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in the United States. (Licensure must be maintained throughout enrollment in the program.)
  • Provide official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended.
  • Provide a professional resume or curriculum vitae.

  • Provide a personal statement addressing professional goals, readiness for graduate study, and interest in nursing business leadership.
  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.

  • Provide 2 letters of recommendation written by appropriate professionals.
  • Participate in an online interview with program faculty.

Relevant clinical, leadership, educational, or administrative nursing experience is strongly preferred and considered in admission decisions.

In addition to the University's admission requirements, the M.S.N./M.B.A. Program requires the completion of Seton Hill University course SBU502 - MBA Orientation & Fundamentals, or equivalent undergraduate coursework, as a prerequisite for admission. You may be able to take prerequisite coursework along with starting MBA classes.

No GMAT or GRE Required

Admissions Process

Admission decisions are made by the Program Director and/or designated graduate nursing or MBA faculty. Selection is based on a comprehensive review of: 

  • Academic performance and trends.
  • Professional nursing experience and leadership potential. 
  • Evidence of critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and communication skills. 
  • Alignment with the mission, philosophy, and objectives of Seton Hill University, the Master’s Program in Nursing and the Master's Program in Business Administration.

Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance.

Because we want to keep you moving forward, this program has rolling admissions. Once completed, your application and materials will be reviewed, and your interview will be scheduled, in a timely manner.
