Students Share Their Stories with Legislators in Harrisburg

Eight Seton Hill students traveled to Harrisburg on April 9 to meet with legislators and share their stories as part of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP) Day on the Hill.

Seton Hill was one of 26 AICUP institutions whose students participated in the day's events, advocating for higher education and particularly the educational offerings at independent schools such as Seton Hill.

SGA President Dustin McMullen, a biology/pre-med major from Franklin, Pa., was one of three students selected by AICUP to give a speech during a press conference in the Capitol's rotunda. He was also featured in an article about the day by the Capital-Star.

Gloria “Gee” Mabiala, a sophomore history/pre-law major from Harrisburg, was another student who traveled back to his hometown of Harrisburg to share the impact PHEAA grants have on his and his brothers' ability to pursue higher education.
